Peatsy started as a domain name. The original idea was a subscription service for everyday home goods, a play on "repeatable," right as Amazon launched Subscribe and Save. The concept went nowhere. The domain stuck around.
Peatsy Puzzles came out of two things arriving at once: AI image generation, which I couldn't stop playing with, and Printify, which could put any image on a physical product, puzzles included. So I generated the artwork, put it on puzzles, and automated everything in between. A business that ran itself, and an excuse to learn automation.
It was also a crash course in art. Prompting hundreds of puzzle designs meant learning the difference between art nouveau and art deco, impressionism and realism, punk and pop art, and what makes each one hold up as a finished image.
The concept worked. I sold a decent number of puzzles, and people loved them. But Peatsy Puzzles had a margins problem: a $45 puzzle netted $1.50 to $2.00 after costs, and no amount of automation changes that math. What it left me with was Make.com, the low-code toolbox, and the automation fundamentals I've used on every project since.
